why not use Perrier water to shower? i used pure water to wash,or i prefer to be caught in the rain. BTW, is the rain smelly?i never been out of my house these days.[/quote]
Sissia,
Are you a student in Suzhou University? I think you'd better go back to Suzhou, where water is good. The trouble water will last for a week maybe. All water boxs need to be cleaned.

I think the good ecnomic state of Wuxi and China only remain on the surface. Many problems exist in our society. We can not feel safe. It seems that everything is not safe, for example food, traffic, producing, buildings, and so on. Even we are afraid of mobilephone be stolen. I was surprised there were so many taxes on my bill and where do they go? Nosense! How can wo resolve these problems?

its the reality, even as for me, i havn't used to the situation.
mobilephone is not only stolen, but also robbed. Especially in the rail-way station, its quite unsafe.
on one side ,the taxes re really going to those governmentor individuals' pockets.on the other side, the insecurity factors are too many to be solved. the gap between poor and rich is really wide.
Except for keep safe and take care by urself, there's no good way to face the society.complaint is useless. Take care... apologize for those thieves.
BTW,Chinese food is great.it deserves to take the place of those unpleasure. _________________ pink my life
Hi
I'm new to this forum and planning a day trip to Wushi on Sunday or Monday to investigate the problems of the sulphurous water at Taihu lake. I write for Businessweek magazine which is very concerned about environmental degradation in China. If anyone has first hand experience about the impact of Taihu's nasty water please either email me at
frederik_balfour@businessweek.com or call my cell 137 188 98 172.
thanks!!

Err, of course he works for a newspaper or a magasine (sorry, I don't know about BusinessWeek ), and newspapers/magasines have to make money out of information.
But if he can help showing the world about this issue, maybe this will push local government to act (we can always dream)
For the world tendency, I agree with you that it's not helpful to complain about pollution while throwing away your rubbish and wondering what's the biggest car you can afford, but would things really be automatically better if everything was more expensive? I've never heard about a company which has spontaneously decided to invest in environment protection without any kind of pressure.
I think that people should be careful in their day-to-day life (yes, I know, easy to say, and no, I won't show the perfect example...) but nothing will change on the industry's side because what one company would pay for dealing with pollution will cost not only money, but competitiveness compared to less careful competitors (my english is getting down! hope it's clear...). Common (and applied...) rules for everyone would surely help!! _________________ If there is no solution, then don't call that a problem!!
